When they are all done calibrate it in CV as well. Then set up CV, just use a simple elimination to set each channel, step through the various axis in the drop down box alongside the channel until you get the stick movement you want. It may be a little difficult at first in windows because it is asking for certain axis but basically you can move all sticks for each calibration step, it is though worth completing it. It does not matter that Windows names differently the channels - you still can assign them properly using the drop down boxes on the right.ĭon't worry too much about what windows call the various axis, it is mostly down to the USB interface and the order it presents the joystick values to windows itself.Ĭalibrate the interface in Windows first, otherwise it will report incorrect values into CV which could limit the throws etc. In fact, you can assign ANY control channel to ANY CV control. Go to CV controller setrup window and assign the control channels to CV controls. Calibrate the controller in Windows first.Ģ. I'm glad I didn't buy it before trying it.ġ. Madness! Obviously this won't work in Clearview, but annoyingly it works fine in FMS. "Slide" is controlled partway by the flap knob! The 'gear' switch moves both "button 2" and "X Rotation". The throttle moves "Y axis", and rudder moves "Z rotation", but only from center to one endpoint. Once we start the simulator, we can go to Settings > Controller Setup to select and set up our controller. Before launching the simulator it is necessary that we have the controller connected through USB and we have it powered on. For example, the ail/elev stick should be the X-Y axis, but instead Windows assigns elevator to both "Z axis" and "Dial", where aileron is "X axis". The simulator I use is called ClearView and you can get it from here. There is something wonky about how Windows assigns the axis settings for the JR transmitter, so since Clearview uses these same settings it is impossible to get normal controls. This is a laptop, so at least I had a touchpad I could enable.īut that's not the end of the story. Well, I got Clearview to see the RC Joystick, but it took unplugging every other USB device (even the mouse).
